Glitch in the data base

Took me quite a while to figure this one out!

Stucco with metal lath R&R is figuring the ceiling instead of the wall. If
it is supposed to, it should say ceiling in the notes and we would need a
line item for the walls but I believe it is an error. It was hard to find
because it gives it to you in SY and the room dims are SF so the correlation
was not as obvious.

    Bob,

I think you are running into this problem because you are adding stucco to interior rooms. For exteriors, you want to create an Elevation instead of an Area in the Scope of Damage screen. Elevations won't give you a ceiling and wall square footage, just a raw square footage for the exterior surface. Please verify and test this to see if that might be the problem.

    John,
You are correct in assuming I was not using the elevation. However, I still believe it is a glitch as the other stucco line items (without metal lath) work fine as do siding, sheathing, etc. I often use the description "Exterior" with overall dimensions where the repairs are being done all around to an even height for flood. I tend to use the elevations more with wind claims as the damage will vary.

I also went back to the copy function from one coverage to another and found the data bases were not the same. Thanks for the help on that.

    Bob,

Good point, even though it's not standard to use stucco on interior walls, it should still calculate correctly. I'll make sure this gets resolved. Good to hear you got the copy/paste figured out too.

    thanks
    John
